The role:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing preventive maintenance on the facility’s production equipment and repairing both mechanical and electrical problems. The Maintenance Technician must adhere to EHS policies, procedures, and regulations at all times. Ensure compliance to all EHS policies and procedures.
- Provide maintenance resource to the entire plant.
- Utilize equipment manuals, analytical skills and test equipment to identify which of the following is the root-cause for an equipment problem: Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic.
- Start/Stop all equipment, identifies machine cycle and sequence of operation as required.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment, with limited support.
- Use hand tools, measurement devices (micrometers, calipers, etc) and shop equipment to repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
- Possess ability to drive forklift truck equipment.
- Organize and control inventory for electrical/tooling parts and maintain records.
- Improve and maintain plant equipment.
- Interface with electrical/tooling vendors to locate cost-effective suppliers.
- Maintain PLC setup and operations.
- Monitor and verify hydraulic pressures to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain work orders in automated software system.
- Monitor maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Review, follow up on, and track changeover schedules and efficiencies.
- Perform training and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED with previous manufacturing facility experience is preferred.
- Basic math skills required.
- Accurately document and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Proficient in the safe use of utility knives, hand and automatic banders, band cutters, staple gun, shrink wrapper and radial saw.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.
- Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
- The volume of work requires the handling of multiple tasks on multiple products.
