Process Engineer
Reports To: Production Manager
Location: Benton, KY
FLSA Status: Exempt
Direct Reports: None
Purpose: The Process Engineer leads planning and execution of capital and cost improvement projects in coordination with site resources. Responsible for timely, professional completion of projects that meet objectives and come in at or under budget. The Process Engineer develops and supports laminating processes in the facility. Reduce scrap levels, increase yields, and improve productivity.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of automation and control systems.
- Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), with a preference for Siemens platforms, to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Develop and update engineering documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training guides, and technical reports.
- Use CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred, other 3D modeling tools acceptable) to design parts, assemblies, or layouts.
- Support process improvement initiatives through data collection, analysis, and implementation of solutions.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to support equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in training and development programs to build technical and professional skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- 0–3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, process, or industrial environment (internships or co-op experience acceptable).
- Knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens preferred; Allen-Bradley or other experience also considered).
- Proficiency in CAD design software, preferably Autodesk Inventor; SolidWorks or similar is acceptable.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documents such as SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
- Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow within the organization.
